first fondant cake

this was my first fondant cake. i was very proud of it, especially since i made my own fondant too- it was marshmallow fondant- not as hard to make as i thought it would be. the daisies and leaves on it are made from fondant and gum paste, while the little violets are royal icing.

dinosaur cupcakes :)

these were just vanilla cupcakes covered with buttercream frosting but they were baked in paper liners with dinosaurs on them (sorry you can't really see that on the picture). my son was ecstatic! he took those to school for his birthday. :) needless to say, he loves dinosaurs. :)

chocolate cupcakes

these are chocolate cupcakes dipped in chocolate ganache and decorated with a single flower made from royal icing. i really like the look of the chocolate ganache as a frosting. :)

valentine's day cake

i made a heart-shaped chocolate cake covered with chocolate ganache to take to my co-workers for valentine's day. it was oozing chocolate goodness and was really rich. personally, i am not a chocolate fan, but i do think you have to have it for valentine's day. :) the rose i put on too is made from royal icing.
